Under the guidance of Master Ken Corona, Corona's Martial Arts Academy has an extremely experienced and dedicated teaching staff. David Goron Coming to Corona’s Academy with a long and extensive career, Mr. Goron offers students a wealth of experience not just as a martial artist, but as a talented teacher of martial arts. He spent many years in competitive martial arts, as a professional kickboxer and coach. He has taken students to Korea for training and worked with the Korean Olympic team, as well as training Junior Olympic champions. He was Arizona state champion several times and twice national instructor of the year. On top of all of this, he tested his acting skills as Bad Guy #2 in the movie The Adventures of the Zordine Warriors. But what he is most proud of is his work with children. Mr. Goron has taught thousands of children over the past 26 years, and is currently teaching in 16 locations in the Phoenix metropolitan area. His mission is to give every child the confidence to try whatever they want to try, and the confidence to live life to the fullest! |

Matt SpencerBorn and raised in Montana before moving to Arizona, Mr. Spencer was introduced to traditional Karate and Aikido as a teen. After moving to Arizona, continued training in Shuri Ryu Karate for 4 years before transitioning into and studying the Korean art of Hwa Rang Do for over 15 years, earning a second degree black belt under Master Ken Corona. During that time, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu became a passion, and the granting of a purple belt became a reality under Gustavo Dantas. As a high school Biology and Chemistry teacher for the last 11 years, the opportunity to coach wrestling during that time was a perfect fit for a lifelong interest in the combative arts. The understanding of (and degrees in) biology, chemistry, anatomy / physiology, nutrition, and science pedagogy all assist in providing quality instruction at Corona's Martial Arts Academy. |

Shannon StallardMr. Stallard is a 27-year veteran in the traditional martial arts with over 20 years of teaching experience. He began his studies with Master Corona in 1992 and has a 3rd degree Black Belt from this experience. Mr. Stallard began studying BJJ in 1995 and is currently continuing his education in Nova Uniao BJJ with Black Belt instructor Chris Lopez. Throughout the 1990s, Mr. Stallard applied his martial knowledge, working as a security consultant and bodyguard. It was during this time that Mr. Stallard developed the Advanced Combative Tactics (A.C.T.) System, which he used in the training of his team of bodyguards. The A.C.T. System has been acclaimed as a highly effective and unique approach to self-defense based on real-life experience. |
